03 Jan Artist Focus – Kloodwig
Hi! My name is Klaudia but I go by Kloodwig on social media. I started posting my art about 2 years ago on Instagram and I am still trying to figure out where I am heading and what I am doing.
Where are you from?
Born and raised in Poland but I’ve lived most of my life in Germany now.
Who are your inspirations? (artistically or otherwise)
The artists I’ve admired for the longest would be James Jean, João Ruas, and Loish.
But I get inspired by a lot of different things; movies, photography, fashion, music, books. Generally, anything that conveys a certain mood I feel attracted to rather than a specific art style or theme.
Favorite thing to draw?
Girls. I think anyone that comes across my work will find very little variety in subjects, I do like to try myself on different subjects from time to time but then I always come back to drawing girls.
When and how did you know you wanted to be an artist?
I never really worked towards the goal of being an artist, I never saw myself as one until about 2 years ago.
After years of neglecting art and trying to be a responsible adult and working with very little time left for something I decided was only a weekend hobby I found myself very unhappy with my life and myself, so I re-balanced my life, cut down on my working hours and now art is my main focus.
I love working digital but I am trying to level up on watercolors. How has your style changed over the years? When I started drawing I was heavily influenced by anime and manga and I think there is still a lot of this influence left in my style, but I started to be a lot more experimental – especially since I picked up art again.
What advice would you give young artists starting out?
If you love art and you need it in your life do not be afraid to commit to it.
Start sharing your art and draw as much as you can. There are always things like anatomy or composition you can study, in fact, I really should study up on all of these technical skills!
Favorite video game?
Fallout 3 and Dragon Age.
Most anticipated game?
Well now that I have worked on this fanart for Cyberpunk 2077 and got to know the world a tiny bit, I can’t wait to put my hands on the game and explore.
